winter offerings:

Valentines Day Date Night

come celebrate your love by working together to create a set of hand built mugs, cups, vases or bowls (or whatever other pottery masterpiece may reflect your partnership!) during my date night class! Each person is able to create one piece (or create one extra large piece together!) all materials and firings are included in the class costs, and I will be glazing your pieces for you. No previous experience required. Work will be ready to pick up 4-5 weeks after class is complete.

Family Day Clay Party - Ages 5+

Come spend family day morning in the studio creating a clay masterpiece of your choosing! Each participants gets to create one piece, all materials and firings are included in the costs, and I will be glazing/finishing your pieces for you. Work will be ready to pick up 4-5 weeks after class is complete.

4 week beyond beginner surface design

this is a 4-week class designed for students who have some experience but are looking to expand their surface design skills. Through-out the class we will be covering techniques such as sgraffito, mishima, using wax and other resists, slip trailing, underglaze transfers and more. There will also be a day focused on getting creative with glazing. All materials and firings are included in the costs!

Thursdays, 5-8pm: February 20th, 27th, March 6th and March 13th

4 week beginner hand building + clay basics

this is a 4-week class exploring the basic properties of clay, hand building techniques (slab rolling, coil building and pinch pots) and an introduction to glazing. All materials and firings are included in the costs!

Wednesdays 5-8pm, February 26th, March 5th, March 12th and March 19th

private groups:

You can book a private group lesson with me in downtown Vernon at the Yellow Door Clay Studio through my contact form (linked here) - please include how many people your group will be (there is a minimum of 2 and we can normally accommodate up to 8 people) what you are interested in creating! It is 80$ a seat for a group of 2 or 60$ a seat for groups over 2!

You get 3 hours’ worth of hand-building instruction - no materials or experience needed, and everything is provided for you! I love hosting date nights, birthday parties and/or any kind of themed event you might be interested in. I regularly teach kids as young as 5 years old and have no age limits on private groups (I only ask that you make clear upon booking when kids will be involved!) - we can choose a lesson plan together (i.e. everybody is making a mug or animal project, etc.) or leave the class open-ended and I can guide the group through whatever they would like to make!
